After her graduation in business administration, Claudia Mitteneder first worked in marketing and sales for aviation companies, then as CEO of a tour operator specialised in tour groups and media trips. Later she founded her own event and marketing agency and was in charge of marketing activities for tourism enterprises in Germany and abroad. Her customers included the tourism ministry of Syria as well as incoming agencies in Egypt, India, and Thailand. She has been working with the Institute for Tourism and Development since 2015, first as marketing manager, now as CEO. As an enthusiastic traveller, she is interested in other cultures and in meeting people. When travelling, she sees to a respectful and socially responsible behaviour.
